About this site
Backlink Collection is a curated, manually checked database of free backlink sources, local directories and guest post submission sites. It is built for people new to SEO, for digital marketers and for business owners, and it exists to take the guesswork out of link building.
We do not hand you a list of links and leave. Every source carries the data you need to decide whether it is worth your afternoon, before you spend it.
- Link type and priority, so you know what kind of link you are actually getting
- Domain authority and traffic, so you can weigh the value before you submit
- Effort and approval, so you know whether it is instant or goes to an editor
- Cost, clearly marked, and the date somebody last checked
Why this exists
We built this because we hit the same wall you are hitting now.
When you are new to SEO, finding free backlink sources that are actually worth using is miserable. Most free link lists online are years out of date, half the sites are broken, and the data you need most is the data nobody publishes. We have gone through lists of five hundred links and come away with maybe ten worth trying.
Link building mattered then and it still matters now. It remains one of the most durable ways to build a site's authority. We wanted a resource where the entries are genuinely useful, the details are accurate, and somebody keeps them current.
Who writes this
We are a small team of SEO specialists and business owners who have done this work ourselves.
Every source is collected and checked by hand before it goes on the site. We open the submission forms, we record what each one actually asks for, and we note the things you would only find out by trying. Because your time is worth something, we do that research so you do not have to.
We are still building this out, and we will be opening up community submissions later so you can send us sources you have found.
What checked actually means here
Every entry carries a date, and that date is a claim about work somebody did rather than a badge.
It means a person went to that site and worked out what it really asks for and what you really get: the cost including what the free tier does and does not cover, the link attribute as the site serves it rather than as its marketing describes it, whether you need a physical address, and how much work the form genuinely is. An entry only goes on the site once that has been done. If it could not be confirmed, it is not published.
Directories change without telling anyone. A free tier closes, a link attribute flips, a form breaks and nobody notices for a year. So the date matters as much as the check, and anything that fails a recheck comes off the page with the reason published rather than being quietly left in place.
One thing we have not done yet, and we would rather say so: we have not run a site of our own through every entry and timed what happened. That test is planned, and when it runs the numbers replace our reasoning on each page.
What we will not do
Trust is the whole point, so here is exactly how we operate.
**What we label free is free.** We do not gate the core directory data and there are no surprise paywalls.
**No unverified link dumps.** We will not scrape and publish incomplete data to inflate our numbers. A smaller list somebody checked beats a bigger one nobody did.
**Advertising funds this, and there are no affiliate links in our tables.** We may take sponsored placements at some point. We have none today, and if that changes you will not have to guess: a sponsored entry will say so on the page, it will be marked so that no ranking credit passes through it, and it will never change a score, a verdict or a position in a table. Nobody can pay their way up these lists. That is published in full on our methodology page and it is the one commitment we will not move on.
We are here to help you build something solid. Let us build it together.
